OK JOE (05 c. o/o Last Splash, by Sky Classic) won a 5-1/2 f. maiden special at Hawthorne on March 15 by a half length in his second start of the year. The 2007 APEX Ratings were published this week in the Thoroughbred Daily News and Exchange Rate scored fifth in the world among young sires (first foals of 1996 to 2004) with an exceptional 'A Runner Index' of 3.55. Exchange Rate also scored first in his sire class, which are sires with first foals of 2003. Said Oppenheim of the top "young sires", "they are really the new World Top 12 in waiting."

RATED FIESTY (05 f. o/o Fiesty Countess, by Count the Time) finished first by a neck in the $50,000 Dixie Belle S. at Oaklawn Park on January 26 but was taken down to third for interference.
