Multiple Grade 1 winner Caleb's Posse (Posse - Abbey's Missy, by Slewacide) was represented by his first two reported foals, the first a filly born on January 28 out of Dontstealmythunder (Thunder Gulch - Meadow Vista, by Meadowlake) and a colt, born January 30 out of Numero d'Oro (Medaglia d'Oro - Numero Uno, by Afleet).
Best known for his powerful stretch runs in the Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile-G1, King's Bishop-G1, and Amsterdam-G2, Caleb's Posse posted the highest Beyer Speed Figures for any colt on dirt at a mile (115) and at seven furlongs (109) in 2012. His Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile win was the second fastest in the race's history, and his King's Bishop victory was the fastest in the last nine runnings of the race.
Multiple winner Dontstealmythunder was a winner at both the maiden special weight and allowance levels. She is the dam of five other foals, four to race, three to win.
"This filly is very correct, very balanced," said farm owner Elaine Peck. "She's got a great body...I'm very pleased with her."
Numero d'Oro, an unraced daughter of Medaglia d'Oro, produced a healthy colt the evening of January 30 at Candy Meadows Farm in Kentucky.
"He's a pretty nice colt with a short back, nice depth through his shoulder, and is athletic-looking with some nice scope to his legs," said Candy Meadows manager Brendan Lewis.
Bred by Don McNeill and raced in partnership by McNeill and Everett Dobson's Cheyenne Stables, Caleb's Posse raced from ages two through four, hitting the board in 16 of his 19 starts, including 13 stakes races.
"Caleb's Posse showed tons of heart on the track, which showed by the way he won the King's Bishop and he also showed he could dominate, as he did in the Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile," said Three Chimneys president Case Clay. "He looks like the miler he was - built for speed with a short back, lots of muscle and a compact frame. It's always encouraging when you hear how excited breeders are about the first foals they're seeing by a stallion. To hear how happy customers are with his first two foals has us very excited about what the future holds for him as a sire."
Caleb's Posse will stand his second season at Three Chimneys in 2014 for an advertised fee of $5,000.
