Will Take Charge's number of first crop winners is up to seven after Take Charge Angel's five-length maiden special weight score Sept. 22 at Churchill Downs.

The 2-year-old filly earned a TDN Rising Star tag in what was her career debut and is the second by her sire to be give the nod.

Ridden like a winner the entire way, Take Charge Angel was well in hand for the first half-mile, then shaken up ever so slightly by Shaun Bridgmohan at the top of the stretch to pull away with complete authority (VIDEO). 

The winner is is the third foal out of the Georgie‚Äôs Angel, winner of the Schuylverville S. (G3) at two.  Take Charge Angel is owned by her breeder Sheffer Racing.

Will Take Charge's seven winners ranks fourth on the Freshman Sire list, while his four stakes horses is second among his peers.
