War Chant Gets 4th Stakes Horse of 2014

2000 Breeders' Cup Mile-G1 winner War Chant was represented by his third stakes horse of 2014 this week when Cancion De Guerra ran third in the Stud Book of Chile Stakes going 6 f. on the turf.

The four-year-old filly out of Song of the Stars, by Unbridled's Song, was bred in Chile by Haras Carioca. She is owned by Stud Kekita and was coming off of a stakes win last time out.

Other stakes performers this year by War Chant include Tarooq, winner of the Cleves Stakes at Lingfield in England, Amor Del Bueno, second in the Valparaiso Sporting Club Stakes, and Carlos Gardel, a previous Grade 2 winner in Chile who ran third in the Republica Dominicana in Chile in February.

War Chant has the highest average earnings per starter of any horse in his stud fee range and has 73 stakes horses lifetime. His fee for 2014 is $10,000.
