Will Take Charge has top filly at Barretts 2YO Sale
Will Take Charge's $335,000 filly at the April 4 Barretts Spring 2-year-olds in Training Sale was the top price paid for any lot by a freshman sire at the one-day auction, as well as being the third-highest overall and the most paid for a filly.

Sequel Bloodstock consigned the filly, hip No. 109, while Rockingham Ranch was the winning bidder of record.

“From the start, she stood out,” said Raymie Lightner, who was bidding on behalf of Rockingham. “She looked good on the track- she galloped out strong and looked good doing it. And she had great conformation. There was nothing not to like about her. She was the one we zeroed in on from the start. We are tickled to death to have. She did it all for us.”

The filly is out of Trip for A. J., a nine-time stakes winner and a half-sister to six-time stakes winner Annabill.

Will Take Charge's first crop has averaged $295,625 during the 2018 2-year-old sales season, the highest for any first-crop sire with more than five lots sold.
