Three Chimneys Racing
The Three Chimneys Racing LLC was developed to give investors the opportunity to enjoy Thoroughbred racing at its highest level. The racing syndicate is currently made up of high-class fillies purchased by Kern Lillingston Association (www.kernthoroughbreds.com) either in Europe or the U. S. Based on the horses' individual strengths, they are placed with appropriate trainers on either the east or west coast. At the time of purchase, each filly currently in the stable was either already a winner, stakes-placed or showed strong potential to succeed in the upper levels of racing. When each filly comes to the end of her racing career, she will be offered for sale as a broodmare prospect or in foal on her maiden year.
In its first 8 months of racing, the syndicate's horses have won two Grade 2 races, a Grade 3 race, a listed/stakes race and an allowance race, as well as having earned a Grade 1 placing and as of July 23, is one of the top 10 owners in the country by percentage of runners who finished in the money. Even by modest standards, this level of success is quite gratifying!
Each member of the syndicate is kept up to speed with the progress of each filly via a weekly email and is alerted to significant updates or entries. Each member is also given a win photo and has the opportunity to purchase duplicate trophies. If members wish to attend races in which TRC LLC horses participate, our office assists them with arrangements. We also assist them with their racing licenses if they desire.
Mill Valley Ventures
Mares that have proven themselves as stakes winners or stakes class runners are highly sought by the marketplace, especially when in foal for the first time to desirable stallions. Four years ago Mill Valley ventures was created with the goal of capitalizing on this facet of the business. The objective of this 12 month venture is to attain superior short term returns by acquiring stakes winning or stakes class maiden mares retiring from the racetrack. By either breeding them to commercially fashionable young stallions and reselling the mares in foal or selling them as broodmare prospects, we believe that the purchases and resale of mares being retired from the racetrack is one of the best and least risky investment opportunities in the Thoroughbred business.
