Fast Scene, owned by Three Chimneys Farm and Blazing Meadows Farm, became Fast Anna’s first stakes winner on July 6 with a dominating four-length win in the $100,000 My Dear S. at Woodbine.
The filly, who broke her maiden in her June 15 debut over the same track and surface, was the even-money favorite in the 5 1/2-furlong My Dear. Breaking a bit behind horses, she quickly recovered and took the lead after a furlong and never looked back, increasing her margin the rest of the way to get the distance in 1:05.15 under a hand ride.
“She was looking at the other horse next to her, but as soon as she put her feet on the ground, she just picked it up,” said winning jockey Rafael Hernandez. “She was awesome, unbelievable today.”
The dark bay filly, who was also bred by Three Chimneys, has now earned $77,634 in her two starts. She hails from the same family as 2001 Kentucky Derby (G1) winner Monarchos.
Fast Anna’s first crop has got off to an excellent start, with four maiden special weight winners to date and a top-10 ranking on the 2019 Freshman Sire list.
