Will Take Charge’s stakes-placed colt Manny Wah tallied his second career win on Oct. 11 at Keeneland with a front-running, 3 1/2-length win in a one-mile allowance contest for 2-year-olds (VIDEO).
The chestnut colt, who broke his maiden at five furlongs on Arlington Park’s synthetic surface, proved two turns was to his liking with Thursday’s impressive victory. Chased through six furlongs by Pole Setter, Manny Wah dispatched his foe at the top of the stretch and pulled clear to win handily.
The winner, a $175,000 Fasig-Tipton 2017 Kentucky Summer Yearling sale purchase by Susan Moulton, was bred by Martha Jane Mulholland and Modo Tesio Equine. He is the first foal out of the stakes winner Battlefield Angel, whose siblings include Peter Pan S. (G3) winner Blended Citizen and Kentucky Derby (G1) runner-up Looking At Lee.
With eight winners and four stakes horses to date, Will Take Charge ranks in the top five on the 2018 First-Crop Sire list. He was also the #1 Freshman Yearling Sire at Keeneland in 2017.
