Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1) winner Super Corredora garnered the Eclipse Award for Champion 2-year-old Filly at the Jan. 22 ceremony held at The Breakers in south Florida.
Super Corredora is Gun Runner’s third Eclipse winner; Echo Zulu was also a 2-year-old filly champion, in 2021, and Sierra Leone, the 2024 Champion 3-year-old Male who also was a finalist in the 2025 Champion Older Dirt Male category. In addition, Gun Runner’s colt Brant was a finalist in the 2-year-old Male category, giving him a total of three finalists in 2025, more than any other stallion.
Super Corredora rocketed to the top of her division in short order, winning a maiden race by 8 ¼-lengths Oct. 11 at Santa Anita Park, then taking the Breeders’ Cup in front running style just 20 days later. Trained by John Sadler, the bay filly has been working steadily at Santa Anita in preparation for her 2026 campaign.
“She’s a filly we had really high hopes for,” said Sadler after the Breeders’ Cup.” We weren’t sure we were going to run, but we trained her a little bit [at Del Mar] and she trained well and here we are. I always expected her to improve around two turns. The Gun Runners, there’s not a hotter stallion in the country than Gun Runner. And to me they move up.”
Super Corredora, who has earned $1,093,600, is owned by Spartan Equine Racing LLC, West Point Thoroughbreds, Robert Gardiner and Michael Olszewski. She was bred by Woodford Thoroughbreds, LLC and sold to West Point for $400,000 at the 2024 Keeneland September Yearling sale.
