Two juveniles from the first crop of Grade 1-winning millionaire Gun Pilot sold for at least $100,000 at Monday’s Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Fall Mixed sale.

Gun Pilot, a son of leading sire Gun Runner, won the Churchill Downs S. (G1) on Kentucky Derby Day and earned $1,217,575 in his career. He stood his first season at Three Chimneys this year for $12,500 S&N.

Leading the way at the sale for Gun Pilot was hip No. 58, consigned by Legacy Bloodstock and purchased for $105,000 by Big Bear Bloodstock for $105,000. The bay filly is out of the Tapiture mare Stylin N Profilin. Third dam Zealous Connection was a Grade 2 winner and was responsible for a trio of stakes winners. This is also the extended family of Grade 1 winner Bradester.

Later in the auction, Gun Pilot’s hip No. 276, also consigned by Legacy, went for $100,000 to Cornerstone Stable. The chestnut colt is the first foal out of Miss Fashionista. The colt’s second, third and fourth dams are all stakes winners.

“We’ve been really happy with the Gun Pilots. They’ve got plenty of bone, good feet, strong frames and workable minds,” said Tommy Eastham of Legacy Bloodstock. “Both did a great job at the sale and handled everything with a lot of class. We have more to come selling at Keeneland in November.”

Gun Pilot has 34 weanlings cataloged for the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale, which runs Nov. 3-11.
