Killa Sally shot through a narrow opening along the rail on her way to a thrilling victory in the $145,000 Oklahoma Classics Distaff Turf S. Friday night at Remington Park, giving the 3-year-old daughter of Volatile her first stakes win [WATCH RACE].
The chestnut filly is one of eight stakes winners this year for Volatile, currently in the top five on the 2026 Third-Crop sire list with nearly $6.5 million in progeny earnings.
After an unhurried start, Killa Sally found herself last of seven as she passed under the wire for the first time. The field spread out noticeably around the first turn, leaving Killa Sally about a dozen lengths to make up at the half-way point on the backstretch.
Killa Sally began her rally going into the turn, advancing to within three lengths of the lead turning for home. She found an opening along the fence at the top of the stretch and shot through, then outran Talkin Cadee to the wire, winning by a half-length in 1:45.02 on the yielding turf course.
Owned by David A. Bernsen LLC and Shamrock Stables, Killa Sally is 3-4-2 in 12 starts and has earned $173,445.
The winner was bred by Matthew Cody McCart & David Matthew Wilkett and is out of Sallyport, who is half-sister to Grade 1-winning millionaire, Canadian Horse of the Year and Champion Turf Female Never Retreat.
