Three Chimneys Farm’s Touch the Moon scored a sharp 4 ½-length win in her maiden special weight debut May 13 at Belmont Park, earning a very good Beyer Speed Figure of 81 while stopping the clock in 1:24.63 for the seven furlongs.
Trained by Todd Pletcher, the 3-year-old Malibu Moon filly pulled clear in the stretch after taking over the top spot with a three-wide move after straightening away for home.
Touch the Moon was bred in Kentucky by Clearsky Farm and is out of the Touch Gold mare Touch Here, who is a half-sister to 2005 Kentucky Oaks (G1) winner Summerly. The bay filly was purchased out of the Fasig-Tipton Florida Sale in March of 2014.
