Three Chimneys Farm and Besilu Stables’ Dubai Sky won his third consecutive race on January 24th, taking a thrilling rendition of the $100,000 Kitten’s Joy Stakes at Gulfstream.
Making his stakes debut, 3-year-old Dubai Sky contested the pace throughout the one-mile test over the lawn, tackling the pacesetter in earnest at the top of the stretch, and getting his nose down at the wire after a furious stretch duel. Under Hall of Fame reinsman John Velazquez, Dubai Sky stopped the teletimer in 1:36.05.
By Candy Ride out of House of Danzig, by Chester House, Dubai Sky was bred in Kentucky by Benjamin Leon Jr.’s Besilu Stables. Trained by Hall of Famer Bill Mott, he has compiled a record of 4-3-0-1 and earnings of $125,580, including a one-mile allowance win at Gulfstream and a 1 1/16-mile maiden special victory at Belmont as a two-year-old. He ran third at Saratoga in his juvenile debut back in August.
