La Verdad, the multiple graded stakes-winning mare by Yes It’s True, became her sire’s newest millionaire Sunday, June 28th when the leading sprinter splashed to a runaway 7 ¼-length victory in the $100,000 Dancin Renee S. at Belmont.

The victory marked La Verdad’s eighth career stakes triumph, pushing her earnings to $1,050,700 for trainer Linda Rice and owner Lady Sheila Stable. Sunday’s performance was arguably as good as any to date, as she took it to her rivals early and poured it on in the stretch under little encouragement. The final time over the sloppy track was 1:10.27 for six furlongs, good enough to earn a co-career-high 101 Beyer Speed Figure. La Verdad paired the 101 Beyer she earned a month ago in her Vagrancy (G3) victory, and appears to be in career form.

The 5-year-old mare will head to Saratoga this summer as arguably the top filly or mare sprinter in North America. She was bred by Eklektikos Stable LLC, and hails from the stakes-placed Hook and Ladder mare Noble Fire.
