Deputy Dora flew over the final furlong of the Gulfstream Park turf course to score an incredible neck victory in a five-furlong maiden contest for 2-year-old fillies.

The winner is the fourth from the first crop of Caleb’s Posse, the Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile (G1) winner who stood the past season at Three Chimneys Farm for $5,000 live foal stands and nurses.

With a dozen lengths to make up, Deputy Dora’s task looked impossible with a quarter-mile to run. But the bay filly was moving very swiftly down the middle of the course and stormed by the field to snatch the win in the final strides.

Deputy Dora was bred in Kentucky by Mr. & Mrs. Nick Bentley and is one of five winners out of Lone Peak, a sister to Grade 3 winner Jungle Prince.
