Three Chimney’s 2-year-old filly Cara Marie zipped to a dominating 12 ¼-length victory Sunday at Turfway Park in a one-mile maiden special weight contest (VIDEO).
The gray/roan daughter of Unbridled’s Song turned the race into a one-horse affair at the half-way point when she drew away from the field with little encouragement from rider Jack Gilligan. Cara Marie completed the distance in 1:39.05 and earned a very good Beyer Figure of 83.
Cara Marie is out of the unraced A.P. Indy mare Miss Kilroy, a sister to Davona Dale S. (G2) Miss Coronado and two-time Grade 3 winner Karen’s Caper. The winner is trained by Kellyn Gorder.
