Exchange Rate’s Encryption couldn’t have been more impressive Saturday at Parx as the 4-year-old rolled to a dominating 6 ¼-length victory in the $150,000 Bayern S., named after last year’s Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) winner who took the Pennsylvania Derby (G2) over this same track.
Encryption is Exchange Rate’s 10th black type winner of 2015, including six graded winners.
Encryption was clearly the best in the 1 1/16-mile Bayern, stalking longshot Grasshoppin through six furlongs, then easily pulling away at the head of the stretch to come home well clear in 1:44.34 on the fast main track (VIDEO).
Previously placed in the 2015 Skip Away S. and 2014 Pegasus S., both grade 3 events, Encryption upped his mark to 4-3-3 in 13 starts and has earned $295,070. He is the second foal out of Mystic Soul, who was also twice graded-placed and a stakes winner.
Encryption was purchased by her owner Stoneway Farm for $140,000 out of the 2012 Keeneland September Yearling sale.
