First-crop yearling sire Palace Malice had his best results of the Aug. 6-7 Saratoga Select Yearlings sale on Tuesday when a colt by the Three Chimneys stallion brought a winning bid of $225,000.
South Point Sales Agency consigned the colt, hip No. 131, which went to Cromwell Bloodstock. The striking chestnut is a half-brother to stakes winners Eighty Nine Red and Silver Princess, out of Timeless Silver. His second dam Bourbon Belle earned over $1.1 million and produced another millionaire and champion in Not Bourbon.
Palace Malice, whose yearling sales average so far in 2018 is $110,389, will be represented by a quartet of youngsters in the Aug. 11-12 Fasig-Tipton Saratoga New York-bred Preferred Yearlings sale this weekend.
