Gun Runner, already the sire of three Breeders’ Cup winners, will have three chances to add to that total in next week’s Breeders’ Cup Oct. 30-31 at Keeneland.
The nation’s third-leading sire, Gun Runner will be represented by Foxiest in the $2 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1), Super Corredora in the $2 million Breeders’ Cup Distaff (G1), and Further Ado in the $7 million Breeder’ Cup Classic (G1). Further Ado is cross-entered in the $1 million Dirt Mile (G1).
Foxiest, and LNJ Foxwoods homebred, will be making her stakes debut in Friday’s 1 1/16-mile contest for 2-year-old fillies. She was stellar in breaking her maiden Sept. 27 at Churchill Downs, winning by nearly four lengths and earning a TDN ‘Rising Star’ designation. Foxiest is out of Covfefe, herself the winner of the Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Sprint (G1), earning her Champion 3-year-old Filly and Champion Female Sprinter honors in 2019.
The Juvenile Fillies drew a field of 13 pre-entries.
Super Corredora, last year’s Champion 2-year-old Filly, won the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1) to secure the Eclipse Award. The bay 3-year-old turned in another stellar race in her most recent start, winning the Sept. 27 Zenyatta S. (G2) by three lengths.
Super Corredora’s record stands at 3-1-0 in seven starts, with earnings of $1,220,100 for owners West Point Thoroughbreds, Inc., Spartan Equine Racing, LLC , Robert C. Gardiner & Michael W. Olszewski. She was bred in Kentucky by Woodford Thoroughbreds, LLC.
Further Ado, one of 11 pre-entries in the 1 ¼-mile Classic, has a special affinity for Keeneland, winning this year’s Blue Grass S. (G1) by 11 lengths, as well as breaking his maiden at 2 by an eye-popping 20 lengths and being named an obvious TDN ‘Rising Star’. Further Ado also won the 2025 Kentucky Jockey Club (G2) in his stakes debut.
This year, the 3-year-old won the Matt Winn S. (G3) and placed second in both the Pennsylvania Derby (G1) and Tampa Bay Derby (G3). His overall record stands at 4-2-1, with earnings of $1,661,958 for owner Spendthrift Farm, LLC. Further Ado was bred in Kentucky by John Oxley and hails from the family of champion Beautiful Pleasure and multiple Grade 1 winner Mecke.
Final entries for all Breeders’ Cup races will be drawn Monday, Oct. 26 at Keeneland.
