A colt from Funtastic’s first crop of 2-year-olds brought a top bid of $120,000 during Thursday’s sessions of the OBS Spring Sale, a price 24 times the Three Chimneys stallion’s stud fee.

Consigned by Scanlon Training and Sales, agent VI, hip No. 751 went to Omni Racing.

The bay colt is out of the multiple stakes-placed Elusive Quality mare Mikey Likes It. This is also the immediate family of multiple stakes winner and sire Deputy Warlock, Adirondack S. (G2) winner Pure Silver, and stakes winner Jehan.

Grade 1 winner Funtastic, a son of More Than Ready, is a half-brother to Horse of the Year Saint Liam and Grade 2 winner Quiet Giant, who is the dam of Three Chimney’s champion First-Crop sire of 2021 and Horse of the Year Gun Runner.

Funtastic, who entered stud in 2019, stands this year for $5,000 S&N.
