Three Chimneys announced today that Sharp Azteca, winner of the Grade 1 Cigar Mile and over $2,000,000, sired his first foal out of the City Zip mare Special City who is out of a half sister to Grade 1 Jockey Club Gold Cup winner Haynesfield. It is the immediate family of turf specialist With Approval who banked earnings of $2,863,540.

Born on January 5th at Wind-n-Wood Farm at just shy of midnight, owners Chesapeake Farm and Crown Chase Farm said they couldn’t be more pleased with their Sharp Azteca foal who they described as being well balanced and strong for a filly.

“Sharp Azteca was a top class miler and is an absolute physical standout. His brilliance and consistency as a racehorse along with his striking conformation made him one of the most popular first crop sires in Kentucky last year. We believe he will not only pass on his brilliance, but provide breeders with a commercial sales horse as well.” said Rebecca Nicholson of Stallion Nominations and Marketing.

Sharp Azteca stands the 2020 breeding season for a fee of $10,000 LFS&N.
