Three Chimney Farm’s homebred multiple Grade 1 winner made a triumphant return to the races Thursday at Churchill Downs with a four-length allowance win going seven furlongs.

Away from the races since September, Guarana was stellar in her 4-year-old debut. Tracking in second for the first five furlongs, she took over the lead on her own and drew off quickly, then was geared down late to win with complete authority.

“She is an incredible filly and did everything so easily today,” said trainer Chad Brown’s assistant Whit Beckman. “There are bigger things down the road for her but it is great to see her get back to the races, especially the way she was able to win as she did today.”

The daughter of Ghostzapper won both the Acorn S. (G1) and Coaching Club American Oaks (G1) last season, and has now won four of her five starts.

Guarana is out of Magical World and is a half-sister to Three Chimneys’ 2019 Debutante S. winner Magic Dance, who is entered Saturday at Churchill in the Dogwood S. (G3)
