For the second day in the row Gun Runner’s top-priced lot at the 2020 Keeneland September Yearling sale went for $750,000.

Tuesday’s top seller for the First-Crop yearling sire was hip No. 351, a filly consigned by breeder Hinkle Farms and purchased by Robbie Medina, agent.

The dark bay filly is out of the Sky Mesa mare Remembered, who is also the dam of multiple Grade 1 winner and $1.5 million earner Bowie’s Hero. Remembered is also the sister to the dam of Three Chimneys stallion Sharp Azteca.

Gun Runner’s top colt on Tuesday was hip No. 268, which was consigned by Woods Edge Farm and purchased by Donato Lanni, agent, for $625,000. The colt is out of Magical Weekend, who is a half-sister to Horse of the Year and 2018 Triple Crown winner Justify.

Through the first two days of the Keeneland sale Gun Runner continues to lead all First-Crop sires with an average sale price of $380,625. After a dark day Wednesday, the sale resumes on Thursday.
