The speedy La Verdad put her talent on display once again in Saturday’s $150,000 Vagrancy H. (G3) at Belmont Park, leading every step of the way to win by a half-length in 1:16.17 for the six and one-half furlongs.

The 5-year-old daughter of Yes It’s True has now won three graded stakes and nearly $1 million in her illustrious career that includes a pair of wins in the Distaff H. (G2) at Aqueduct.

La Verdad broke like a shot out of the gate in the Vagrancy, but was soon joined by Frivolity, who could only sustain her run for about a furlong. At that point, La Verdad’s class took over and she opened a comfortable lead coming into the stretch, then fended off a late challenge from Room for Me to secure the win.

La Verdad increased her bankroll to $990,700, with a remarkable 12 wins from 18 lifetime starts. Should she eclipse the seven-figure earnings mark, she will be the second horse sired by Yes It’s True to do so. She is trained by Linda Rice for Lady Sheila Stable.
