Lavender Lil made up a half-dozen lengths in the final furlong to break her maiden on Friday evening a Prairie Meadows (WATCH RACE).

The 2-year-old filly was the second winner on the day, and the 15th overall for the top-ranked First-Crop sire Sharp Azteca. In the past week alone, the Three Chimneys stallion has had two stakes winners and three maiden special weight winners.

Lavender Lil broke well in the 5 ½-furlong contest, then dropped back steadily until she was well back in fourth midway on the turn. She started to regain her momentum from that point and steadily closed the gap until taking the lead in deep stretch to best Lady Damaris on the wire.

The winner is owned by Dick Clark, Tom Allen and Otto Farms, Inc. and was bred by High Point Bloodstock.
