Striking Moon strode clear in the final furlong to break his maiden by four lengths in a 5 ½-furlong maiden special weight race for 2-year-olds on Aug. 24 at Woodbine.
The bay colt is Palace Malice’s eighth first-crop winner. In the last month, the top-10 Freshman Sire has had four winners and his first stakes winner with Talkin Malice, who also was his first two-turn winner.
Striking Moon, owned by Chris & Nancy Howard and Donald Ross, got a nice trip in the two path, stalking the pace until taking over in upper stretch and drawing off smartly to score the win.
The winner was bred by Southwind Stables from the Malibu Moon mare Roxie Fast Moon, from the same family as champion Inside Information and millionaire Educated Risk.
