Miss Brazil was stellar in her dirt debut at Aqueduct on Nov. 29, leading virtually gate-to-wire to win the 6 1/2-furlong maiden special weight contest by 2 1/2-lengths ((VIDEO)).

The 2-year-old daughter of Palace Malice covered the distance in 1:17.42 on a fast track after setting swift fractions. Her Beyer Speed Figure of 93 was the highest of any 2-year-old, male or female, in a maiden race this year.

Miss Brazil, who was a good third in her Oct. 25 debut on the turf at Belmont Park, has earned $53,600 in her two starts for owner Team D and trainer Tony Dutrow.

The winner sold to her owners for $170,000 at the 2019 Keeneland September Yearling sale. She was bred by Haymarket Farm LLC from the Forestry mare Baytree and is a half-sister to Grade 2-placed Hammers Vision.

Palace Malice’s second crop of runners includes five stakes horses, led by graded winners Mr. Monomoy and Fly On Angel. The Three Chimneys stallion had his biggest book to date in 2020, breeding 207 mares. He will stand the 2021 season at the farm for $20,000 S&N.
