Pinnacle Peak soared to a majestic 10-length win Friday evening in the $75,000 Prairie Meadows Juvenile Mile in just the second lifetime start for the 2-year-old Yes It’s True colt.
With $3.2 million in progeny earnings, Yes It’s True has 10 black type horses this year, led by two-time Grade 2 winner La Verdad.
Pinnacle Peak was a troubled second in his debut over the same track on July 16, had no cause for alarm on Friday as the chestnut colt sped right to the lead, controlling the half-mile in :48 2/5 seconds, then drew off in hand in the stretch.
Bred in Kentucky by Mark Breen, Pinnacle Peak is the first foal out of Charlie Girl, a half-sister to multiple Grade 1 winner My Wandy’s Girl.
