Will Take Charge, whose first crop are 2-year-olds of 2018, had a banner day at Tuesday’s Fasig-Tipton July Sale, with four lots bringing an average of $232,500.
All four yearlings brought at least $190,000, with hip No. 291, consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency, leading the way when she hammered for $260,000 to Jay Em Ess Stable. The Kentucky-bred bay is out of the Dixie Union mare La Belle and is a half-sister to Arlington-Washington Lassie S. winner She’s Offlee Good. This is also the same family as the remarkable race mare Hallowed Dreams, who won 25 of 30 starts.
Another filly, hip No. 253 consigned by Gainesway, went for $250,000 to Ken McPeek, agent. The filly is from the same family as Grade 1 winners Cetewayo and Dynaforce.
Also on the docket Tuesday for Will Take Charge was hip No. 207, consigned by Denali Stud and purchased by J. J. Crupi, agent for $230,000. The colt is the first foal out of Divine Trick, a daughter of the stakes-winning mare On the Menu.
