Full of Grace drew off impressively in the final furlong to break her maiden by 4 1/4-lengths on Sept. 1 at Canterbury Park.
The 2-year-old filly is the fourth winner for freshman sire Strong Mandate, who also got his first black type horse on Aug. 31 when the colt Policy finished second in Del Mar’s $100,000 I’m Smokin S.
Full of Grace, who was second in her debut after an extremely wide trip, got a much better journey on Saturday, stalking in third before taking over the lead in mid-stretch to win handily.
The winner is owned by Novogratz Racing Stables and was bred by Rose Hill Farm and John Trumbulovic. Full of Grace is the first foal out of Grade 1 winner La Glamorosa.
