Strong Mandate’s first weanling filly offered at the Keeneland November sale brought a winning bid of $270,000 from Baccari Bloodstock during the first Tuesday session of the Nov. 8-20 sale.
Consigned as hip No. 209 by Three Chimneys Farm, home of Strong Mandate, the dark bay Kentucky-bred is out of Graeme Six, a Grade 3 winner on the track and already the dam of two graded stakes winners – Cali Star and Delightful Joy – from her first four foals to race.
Strong Mandate, who won the Hopeful S. (G1) by nearly 10 lengths and is champion sire Tiznow’s only Grade 1-winning 2-year-old son at stud, will stand the 2017 season at Three Chimneys for $10,000 live foal stands and nurses.
