Talkin Malice rallied strongly in the final three furlongs to win the $65,000 Prairie Meadows Juvenile on Saturday evening to become the first stakes winner for First-Crop sire Palace Malice (VIDEO).

Talkin Malice, who was making his racing debut in the 1 mile and 70 yard contest, bore out severely out of the gate and soon found himself about 10 lengths away from the leading duo of King Snake and Southgate. Ridden patiently by Alex Canchari, the bay colt began to cut into the deficit on the final turn, rallying past the front-runners in mid-stretch and drawing off impressively to win by a widening three lengths.

Owned and bred by Al and Bill Ulwelling, the Kentucky-bred is the first foal out of the stakes winner Talkin Bout.

With six winners to date, Palace Malice is among the top 10 First-Crop Sires by winners, while his 2-year-olds have brought up to $850,000 at auction.
