Three Chimneys Farm will host its January open house and stallion showcase Monday through Thursday, January 9-12 to coincide with the Keeneland January sale.

The farm’s six stallions, headlined by the Gun Runner, the leading Second-Crop sire and top-five General Sire of 2022, will be available for inspection each day from 10:00 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Gun Runner, who was the champion First-Crop sire of 2021, once again led his generation in 2022 with $14.6 million in progeny earnings, 12 stakes winners, nine graded winners, including four Grade 1 winners: Taiba, Society, Cyberknife and Early Voting.

Grade 1 winner Sharp Azteca was the leading First-Crop sire of 2022 by winners with 35. Topping the list is the multiple stakes winner Tyler’s Tribe, and stakes winners Alma Rosa and Sharp Aza Tack. Sharp Azteca, who stands for $15,000 this year, started off 2023 in style on New Year’s Day when Precious Meadow became his first graded winner

Volatile, the winner of the Alfred G. Vanderbilt S. (G1) and the fastest sprinter of 2020, stood his second season at Three Chimneys in 2022. He continues to be very popular with breeders, covering 157 mares last year. Volatile stands for $12,500.

Funtastic, who stands for $5,000, is a half-brother to Horse of the Year Saint Liam as well as the dam of Gun Runner. A Grade 1 winner at 11 furlongs, Funtastic’s multiple stakes-placed colt First Peace recently finished second in the Eddie Logan S. at Santa Anita Park.

Palace Malice had a Breeders’ Cup winner in his first crop and is a top-10 Fourth-Crop sire by winners. His biggest crop to date will be 2-year-olds of 2023. Palace Malice stands for $7,500.

Sky Mesa the veteran of the Three Chimney’s roster, has more than 70 lifetime stakes winners and 140 stakes horses lifetime. The sire of five champions, Sky Mesa continues to get stakes-quality horses on both dirt and turf. He stands for $10,000 in 2023.
