Exchange Rate’s expanding list of stakes winners grew on June 3 when White Blossom galloped to a front-running, 1 ½-length victory in the $50,000 Our Mims S. at Delaware Park.
White Blossom is Exchange Rate’s 14th stakes winner of 2015, an impressive list led by Ball Dancing (Grade 1 Jenny Wiley S.) and Miss Ella (Grade 2 Beaumont S.).
With Kerwin Clark aboard, White Clover was never headed and covered the mile and 70 yards in 1:41.07 over a good main track.
“She has kind of gotten overshadowed in our barn because of (graded stakes winners) Lovely Maria and I’m a Chatterbox,” said winning trainer J. Larry Jones. “But she is a really nice filly. When we pitched her in the Rachel Alexandra a few races back, our intent was to run one-two-three and we ran one-two. But all of my horses had been on the lead at some point. She was on lead, and then Lovely Maria took over, and then I’m a Chatterbox took over late. But White Clover is a really nice filly and hopefully we will hear a lot more from her later this summer. Her next race will likely be the Delaware Oaks (G3, on July 11).”
White Clover is now 3-2-1 in her eight starts and has banked $102,830. She is out of Red Mischief and is a half-sister to Ermine, winner of the Apple Blossom H. (G1) and Falls City H. (G2). She was bred in Kentucky by Bluegrass Hall and races for Calumet Farm.
