Radio Days, Gun Runner’s 18th winner from his first crop, won her Oct. 31 debut on a sloppy racetrack at Belmont Park by 1 ½-lengths despite a wide trip nearly the entire six furlongs (WATCH RACE).

The dark bay filly was near the back of the seven-horse field on the backstretch, forcing her to go four-wide on the turn to engage the leaders with a quarter-mile to run. She poked her head in front in midstretch, then pulled clear late to finish up in 1:11.64 over the off going.

The winner is owned by Allen Stable, Inc. and sold for $750,000 at the 2020 Keeneland September Yearling sale from the consignment of her breeder Hinkle Farms.

Radio Days is out of the Sky Mesa filly Remembered, who is the dam of multiple Grade 1 winner and millionaire Bowies Hero. Remembered is also a half-sister to So Sharp, the dam of Three Chimneys stallion Sharp Azteca.

Gun Runner currently leads the First-Crop sire list with over $2 million in progeny earnings. He will have his first two Breeders’ Cup runners Friday at Del Mar (where Gun Runner won the Breeders’ Cup Classic G1) with Echo Zulu in the Juvenile Fillies (G1) and Pappacap in the Juvenile (G1).
